Contact The Elderly-Monthly Tea Parties-Volunteer Driver's & Hosts Needed
Contact the Elderly is a national charity which organises monthly tea parties for elderly people locally. This helps isolated people who may suffer from loneliness meet new friends over some tea and cakes.
This is a great opportunity for elderly people within Aberdeen to get out and meet with other people of a similar age and chat.
The charity is in it's 50th year in the UK and has won the Queen's Jubilee Award for volunteering.
There is a group within Aberdeen which meets once a month usually on a Sunday afternoon between 2 and 4pm, volunteer's host the tea parties and volunteer driver's collect the elderly person from their home and attend the tea parties with the elderly person and return them to their homes afterwards.
We are currently looking for both volunteer driver's and hosts as the number of elderly people who would benefit from this service is growing and people are currently on waiting lists.
If you are interested or know someone who is, please contact me by email or by phone for further information.
This is a fantastic way to show your community spirit to vulnerable people within our community.
If you have responded to this by email and don’t seem to get to a reply, I will reply within time so please check your Junk Mail or phone me direct.
Many thanks.
